        About Argyll Ancestors

Penny is in her later years, married to Alister for 25 years, and has suffered from severe chronic arthritis for over 20 years, so is unable to undertake full time employment. She works from home which is an 18th Century farm house, and has found entries in Parish records dated 1793 that mention the farm and its' inhabitants.

A former resident of Glasvaar in 1793 - married on May 30th.

She spends much of her spare time researching family history, her own English roots which are taking up much of her spare time at the moment, trace back through her maternal line and the Hand Weavers of Misterton in Nottinghamshire, to Pastor John Robinson the Pastor to the famous Pilgrim Fathers and the Mayflower.

Her father was in the Royal Airforce during the second war, and spent almost four years in prisoner of war camps in Germany, Poland and Lithuania. Penny has spent many hours researching her fathers incarceration, and his service in the Airforce before being taken prisoner.

The genealogy bug got a hold over 10 years ago and has never let go, as the years have gone by the urge to find out more has got stronger, until today when she wants everyone to get to know their family history, "you might be surprised what you might find!"

She specialises in Scottish family history as it is much easier to research than the English system, there is less need to travel to relevant Register offices, and therefore keeps the costs down.
